CONSTRUCTION ALLIANCE NORTH EAST (CAN)
Construction Alliance North East is the collective voice for the region’s small and medium-sized construction companies. By uniting local trade bodies, CAN supports its members through regional policy influence, advocacy and shared industry intelligence.
CAN represents over 500 member companies from regional construction and engineering firms. These businesses operate with a combined turnover of £3 billion and employ more than 100,000 people across the network. This scale allows CAN to drive meaningful change and support its members through a wide range of services.
Membership with NCBF automatically extends to CAN, giving you representation in matters affecting construction across the North East.

CONSTRUCTING EXCELLENCE IN THE NORTH EAST (CENE)
Constructing Excellence North East is the regional partner of the national Constructing Excellence movement. It promotes collaboration, innovation and best practice across the built environment. Members benefit from a strong professional network and a programme of events that encourage knowledge sharing and continuous improvement.

NATIONAL FEDERATION OF BUILDERS (NFB)
Founded in 1880, the NFB is one of the UK’s longest-established trade associations. It represents builders and contractors across England and Wales, providing expert guidance, business support and a strong political voice. Members gain access to practical resources and a respected network of peers.

GENERATION FOR CHANGE (G4C)
G4C is the young professional voice of the UK built environment sector. Designed for emerging leaders and early-career professionals, G4C offers networking, personal development and the chance to contribute to industry change. Members take part in regular regional and national events.

CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY COUNCIL (CIC)
The Construction Industry Council brings together over 500,000 professionals from across the built environment. It represents a broad alliance of industry bodies and supports the sector through research, policy development and collaborative working. CIC gives construction professionals a shared voice at the highest level.

CIVIL ENGINEERING CONTRACTORS ASSOCIATION (CECA)
The Civil Engineering Contractors Association (CECA) is the principal trade association representing civil engineering contractors in the UK. It speaks up for the interests of over three hundred firms employing close to 250,000 people and delivering work worth around £15 billion every year.
