CONSTRUCTION ALLIANCE NORTH EAST (CAN)
CAN was established in 2015 to support regional SME contractors to share one voice and to develop a structure to support local procurement. It represents a network of 500 North East businesses with a combined turnover of £3 billion.
Today, its work is underpinned by three pillars – Intelligent Procurement, Fair Payment and Skills and Training.
NATIONAL ASSOCIATION OF WOMEN IN CONSTRUCTION (NAWIC)
NAWIC is dedicated to the advancement of women in the industry. Its aim is to support women in construction throughout their careers, to celebrate their accomplishments, to make a lasting positive impact on the industry and to inspire the next generation of women into construction-related roles.
CONSTRUCTING EXCELLENCE IN THE
NORTH EAST (CENE)
CENE is a platform from which to stimulate, debate and drive much-needed change in the construction sector. Its members, drawn from the entire supply chain, share a vision for change through innovation and collaboration.
Its mission is to positively disrupt industry delivery processes to transform performance.
GENERATION FOR CHANGE (G4C)
G4C provides a unique environment so that those who are new to the industry can find camaraderie and use the network as a platform for getting their voices heard, sharing innovative industry thinking and discussing best practice.
G4C plays a vital role in shaping the next generation of construction professionals.
CONSTRUCTION INDUSTRY COUNCIL (CIC)
CIC brings together the built environment professions including professional bodies, research organisations and specialist business associations.
Using the expertise of its members CIC aims to deliver a better environment and a better world by sharing a collective interest in making a positive impact and contribution to society.
ONEVOICE
Officially launched in 2020, the OneVoice construction strategy aims to build a successful, sustainable and inclusive construction industry, equipped with the people and technology to deliver a carbon neutral built environment by 2050.
The revised OneVoice action plan allows for a shift in focus as a result of the pandemic and changing attitudes in the industry.
The overarching aim is ensuring that North East England is recognised as a beacon of best practice.
