Northern Counties Builders Federation, (NCBF) expands further, as it welcomes new members, True North Construction Ltd and Tyneside Developments Ltd.
The NCBF, brings together construction companies and contractors operating in the North East. It is proactive in raising the profile of members, supporting training and plays an influential role within its network of regional partners, to support organisations and initiatives that exist to further the construction industry's success in the region.
True North Construction Ltd and Tyneside Developments Ltd, join over 30 regional SMEs, including Compass Developments, Brims, McCarrick Construction and Carney Consultancy who are proactive in making a difference to the future of the construction industry.
Over the last year, NCBF, supported by Constructing Excellence in the North East, has worked on a number of education projects, including the relaunch of the North East Schools Wonder Challenge and the Building Your Future campaign.
Angela Carney, president, NCBF, said: “In the last year we have really worked hard to raise the profile and image of the construction sector and, together with our members, we have showcased the talent in our region.
“We warmly welcome True North Construction Ltd and Tyneside Developments Ltd who, like those that have been members for many years, recognise there is much to be gained by coming together, sharing best practice and learning from one another.
“As we move into autumn, our focus will very much be on skills. We will work alongside other industry bodies such as lobbying group, Construction Alliance Northeast (CAN) and Constructing Excellence North East (CENE) to really tackle the image of our industry and encourage many more people to enter into it.
“We are currently working with the region’s colleges and will soon be announcing our next event as we build on the success of our Building Your Future Campaign, where we bring employers to regional colleges to highlight career opportunities.”
David Roberts, director at True North Construction, said: “The construction sector in the North East is extremely active at the moment and this looks set to continue well into the future. The future looks very positive. However, we do have some challenges, not least, is the critical need to raise the profile of the sector and to encourage a huge raft of urgently needed new people to train and upskill. While each company in the sector has an important role to play in developing the workforce of the future, we will only make significant inroads if we come together as one. That is one of the main reasons we have joined the NCBF.”
Robbie Kalbraier, managing director at Tyneside developments Ltd, said: “Becoming a member is something that was on our radar for a while. The NCBF is the perfect fit and aligns with the values of our company. We are proud to be from the region and we want to play our role in helping to future-proof the North East construction sector. We are really looking forward to meeting the other members and to the many networking opportunities.”
